With the GOP debates ramping up, Presidential hopefuls are battling each other out onstage seeking the republican presidential nomination. GOP candidates are working on establishing and selling their platforms.

Candidate Rick Santorum has decided that his platform includes attacking Gay Marriage laws and Sex education. Santorum recently pledged to “die on that hill” fighting against same-sex marriage and desires to repeal all federal funding for contraception. He believes that “sex is supposed to be within marriage” and “special.” He’s an advocate of a “uniform definition of marriage” by the government and suggests that the “breakdown of the American family” has contributed to the failing economy.

These stances are his own personal religious views which he desires to transform into legislation for every American citizen. In our blogs, ONE has explored effective sex education and federally subsidized contraception and couldn’t disagree with Mr. Santorum more. ONE believes in co-ed sex education programs and the expansion of insurance plan coverage to include additional contraceptive items such as condoms.

ONE supports a country of free choice and the expansion of civil rights, not restrictions. It is vital to use your voice and support the candidate that best fits with your views. One thing is certain, if companies were able to vote, ONE would not be voting for Mr. Santorum and his restrictions on personal rights.
